Topic: Extraordinary Journeys: China, Vietnam, and India
Facilator: Todd Grubb and Arlene Newman
Todd Grubb and Arlene Newman will share their recent experiences in China, Vietnam, and India, and engage the group in dialogue.
First, as members of the People-to-People Ambassador Program’s Human Resource Management (HRM) delegation to China, they visited Chinese government HRM officials, two major university management departments, and several multi-national companies in Beijing and Shanghai to exchange views. They also met with Chinese human resource (HR) managers to discuss “real world” HR problems and practices. They gained a great deal of information about recruitment, management, and individual and organizational development practices in China.
Second, Todd taught Human Resource Management for Troy University to Vietnamese students in Hanoi. He learned about the students and Vietnamese education. It also provided a unique opportunity to see part of Vietnam from the inside.
And third, Arlene and Todd toured India and learned about life and work there.
These three countries represent almost 40% of the world’s population. Their economic growth is 4 to 5 times that of the United States. Come to our meeting to learn, see some pictures, and share your views.
