Topic: Book Discussion The Speed of Trust: The One Thing That Changes Everything( by Covey, Covey, & Merrill)
Description: Many of us have experienced the lack of trust in the businesses we work with and in. While we can all say that trust is an important component in business, the lack of trust is still a leading area of concern for business leaders, employees, and society at large. The authors discuss trust as the "hidden variable" critical to organization success. Come to the OD SIG meeting for a lively discussion of how trust is destroyed, the "five waves of trust", 13 behaviors of trust-inspiring leaders, and how to build trust.
April Meeting Note: Thanks so much to Ed Hacker who shared with us the 2008 criteria of the Baldridge-Sterling awards and his experience as a five-year Senior Examiner of the award teams. The Performance Excellence Model (leadership; strategic planning; customer & market focus; measurement, analysis, & knowledge management; workforce focus; process management; and results) sure got us thinking about how we approach and work with our current and future clients. Fabulous tool for all of us!
