Topic: Building Conflict Competent Teams
Speaker: Tim Flanagan
As organizations continue to rely on teams and teamwork, the most successful teams know that conflict among members is inevitable. The way teams deal with conflict can not only prevent harmful disputes, it can offer tremendous opportunities and potential. Teams that embrace conflict competently can leverage the diversity of perspectives for the purposes of discovery and innovation. Conflict can become an advantage as the issue at hand is examined, expanded and embraced.
Based on the book, Building Conflict Competent Teams, by Tim Flanagan and Craig Runde, this program explores how conflict often begins, methods for handling it effectively, and specific suggestions for harnessing the tremendous upside of conflicting ideas and viewpoints.
